PCBMod - for Power/Ground, Signal Integrity, and EMC/EMI simulations
PCBMod is unique for its capabilities to help investigating all SI, EMC, and EMI effects without the need for a real prototype of your PCB. Regardless if for high speed digital, analog / mixed signal, or power supply designs, PCBMod will save you time and money when designing and producing new PCBs.
You have the choice to analyze in time domain or frequency domain and to use 2D or 3D line models for transmission line simulations or power/ground analyses. Skin effect, dielectric losses, and any structural EMC issues are all considered in the built-in simulator.

Why is PCBMod so valuable to you?
- Push-button import of layout data (SLPCB-I/F interfaces)
- Well suited for almost all kind of analyses for experts and non-experts
- SI, EMC, and EMI in time domain and frequency domain with 2D and 3D model approaches
- Especially developed for power/ground analyses
- Considers exactly the skin effect and electrical losses in both time domain and frequency domain
- Interfaces to other Spice equivalent tools for easy data exchange of models
- Component database for IBIS and Spice models
- Intuitive and wizard oriented user interface
- Comprehensive visualization of current density and voltage distribution for any trace structure
- Easy and industry-like viewing of loadings, terminations, etc.
- Combines state-of-the-art modeling and simulation techniques like 2D BEM and 3D PEEC
PCBMod can be easily integrated into your development workflow. It saves time and money by allowing you to start already at virtual prototypes or earlier to find answers to SI, EMC or EMI issues of your PCB design. When trying to find the root of EMC problems in frequency domain you are able to run simulations without any device models at all, since EMC effects are purely geometry dependent.

Optional modules
SLPCB-I/F interfaces: Available for a wide variety of popular Windows and UNIX based PCB layout systems. SLPCB-I/F performs an automatic extraction and discretization of your PCB design data and includes various self-healing functions to ensure the data imported properly suits EMC simulation.
SLPCB-I/F interfaces are supporting the following EDA layout systems:
- Altium Protel 99SE
- Altium P-CAD
- Cadence Specctra CCT layout (Allegro, OrCad)
- Mentor Graphics BoardStation
- Mentor Graphics Expedition
- Mentor Graphics PowerPCB (PADS)
- Zuken CR-5000
- Zuken Visula
SLIbis: You can use IBIS models for your SI analyses to incorporate the behaviour of your IC components in the simulation flow.
RadiaSim: Lets you analyze the influences of electromagnetic emission (EMI) from your PCB.
