Product short descriptions:

PCBMod

(includes 2D field solver and 3D field solver)

With the full functionality of SimLab's two-dimensional and three-dimensional field solvers and with advanced network simulators running in the background, PCBMod offers the user an overall solution to solve EMC and signal integrity problems related to PCB layout design, placement of components, and optimisation of power/ground concepts. You can choose from a variety of methods, as e.g.:
two-dimensional or three-dimensional, time domain or frequency domain, signal integrity or EMC (power/ground) to ensure investigations can be done to the point. Using our SLPCB-I/F interfaces an import of layout data from common CAD tools as well as the extraction of layout structures for modelling and simulation is a matter of one mouse-click. The powerful and self-explaining graphical user interface leads you through your project and supports you in all stages of product development.
Besides a library management for loadings, technologies, etc., and many automatisms for impedance, crosstalk and radiation calculation, PCBMod also takes into consideration production tolerances, such as variances in conductivity or in board technology (layer stack).
One of the outstanding features of PCBMod is the combination of a fast integral equations method (BEM) with a modern modelling procedure (PEEC). Our highly efficient kernels allow for very detailed analyses of very small structures (e.g. vias) and as well arbitrarily shaped structures on complex multilayer boards. The possibility to set probe points for measurements at any place of the layout, the calculation of impedances, scattering parameters, or ground bounce effects with the visualisation of current return pathes, makes PCBMod an ideal candidate for post-layout and pre-layout analyses.   More information ...

CableMod

(includes 2D field solver)

Since the analysis of cable structures is more than just an investigation of several cable geometries, CableMod was especially adapted for complex harness systems to meet the industrial users' requirements regarding modelling and simulation of EMC and signal integrity effects. Using our powerful 2D-field solver and an advanced network simulator running in the background, CableMod does also take exactly into account skin effects and electrical losses whether in time domain or frequency domain.
The random bundling in cable manufacturing requires special simulation procedures like the Monte Carlo analysis. This Monte Carlo analyses in combination with an automatic bundling algorithm, together with powerful modelling and simulation methods fits real-world conditions.
Production tolerances can be taken into consideration as well as surrounding housings or dielectric media with the full variety of EMC calculations, as signal integrity, irradiation, or crosstalk. The graphical user interface was developed in close co-operation with industrial partners to guarantee high applicability in the user's development process. As an example, the inclusion of a car chassis into CableMod is a matter of one mouse click.
Optionally available is an interface to import meshed geometrical data in Nastran file format provided by mechanical CAD software environments, as e.g. CATIA, Ideas3D, and Pro/E.   More information ...

RadiaSim

Based on the calculation of impressed current densities in either PCBs or cable harness systems, RadiaSim enables the user to determine the radiated static as well as the radiated dynamic E-field and H-field. This is done by defining probe point arrays (lines, circles, planes, or spheres) in three-dimensional space where the field is to be calculated.
Based on its implemented fast integral calculation methods, RadiaSim is superior to comparable radiation tools, since a subdivision of space is not necessary between probe points and the structure to be analysed. This allows for investigating large sized objects.   More information ...

SLIbis

IBIS is an international data standard used by many component manufactures and more and more IBIS models becoming publicly available.
SLIbis allows you to read those IBIS models into PCBMod and CableMod with a matter of one mouse click. SLIbis is easy to use, converts automatically IBIS models into Spice equivalent models, generates ramp (simple) models as well as waveform (accurate) models, does an automatic syntax check of IBIS input files, stores them automatically in an ASCII database and helps in finding the models by offering various sorting possibilities, as e.g. by signal pins, by signals, or by models.   More information ...

SLSpice

Scattering Parameters generated by measurement or simulation are often the only possibility to describe the behaviour of components, electronic devices, or mechatronic systems.
SLSpice allows you to read in those Scattering Parameters stored in Touchstone file format and to automatically convert these data into accurate Spice equivalent models. SLSpice is easy to use and generates models which can be used in all Spice compatible network simulators. The accuracy of the converted data can be controlled in a graphic view and the validity of the generated models will be directly checked.   More information ...

SLBoardView

In electronic industry it is often necessary to display and explore Printed Circuit Boards layout data without having the respective PCB design tool software available.
Using SLBoardView enables you to introduce such functionality by allowing all departments in your company to graphically view and investigate PCB layout data of various common EDA systems. Beside the listing and highlighting of nets and components SLBoardView contains a board technology editor and an easy-to-use wave impedance calculator. Additionally, PCB layout views can be exported in common graphic file formats to support the documentation work in your development flow.   More information ...

SLPCB-I/F

The functionality of SLPCB-I/F offers you comfortable interfaces to common CAD tools for PCB layout, as e.g. Mentor Graphics BoardStation, Expedition, and PowerPCB (PADS), Zuken CR-5000 and Visula, Cadence Specctra CCT layout (Allegro, OrCad), Altium Protel 99SE and P-CAD, AutoCad, and others. More interfaces are in development.
With the powerful layout extraction algorithms, any net, trace, via, or area of interest can quickly be selected and automatically be prepared for a following modelling and simulation.
The advantage of the extraction algorithms can be seen especially in a transmission line analysis of bus structures where three-dimensional geometries are processed for two-dimensional field calculations.
